The Quality Control Equipment Specialist 1 is responsible to ensure superior performance of all equipment and instrumentation utilized in the Operations laboratory. The QC Equipment Specialist will be the primary point of contact for production lab personnel when equipment and instruments are not operating or not meeting operational specifications

• Respond to instrument failures in the clinical lab to minimize downtime
• Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, including calibration/preventive maintenance, with approved service provider
• Perform calibration checks on equipment based on recommended intervals
• Develop and execute procedures for the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and instruments
• Point of contact for vendor service calls service, preventative maintenance, modifications and installations on instruments with minimal supervision
• Facilitate introduction of new equipment into clinical laboratory
• Perform qualification for new and/or returning equipment
• Work with Quality Assurance to determine qualification, calibration and preventive maintenance requirements for equipment to comply with regulations
• Develop and revise equipment qualification protocols (IQP/OQP/PQP) in accordance with design requirements, operational needs, and applicable standards
• Execute test protocols, compile test results, interpret data, and generate qualification reports
• Adherence to CLIA/CAP/ISO13485 regulations as it pertains to instrumentation and equipment
• Coordinate duties with OPS EQP Lab Technician as needed
• Work as a member of a fully integrated team
• Other duties as assigned
• This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have an access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
• Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
• Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements
• Employee must pass post offer criminal background check QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA in a biological science, similar field of study, or comparable industry experience

0-2 years of industry-related experience.

• Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
• Experience with DNA Isolation and Purification, PCR, Cell Culture, Sequencing is preferred
• Hands-on experience with Tecan or Hamilton automation instrumentation is preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Duties are performed in a laboratory setting and in an office setting
• The position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, interact with outside vendors, and communicate over the telephone
• Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
