Prepare and teach assigned Human Services Counseling courses in accordance with course outline and published course schedule; assess student progress in each course taught; maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress in assigned courses; seek continuous improvement in student-centered learning and pedagogy; stay current in his/her discipline; maintain scheduled office hours for availability to students; advise students; create a yearly individual professional development plan; participate with other faculty in developing and managing courses, curricula and academic policy; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and others in order to contribute to the success of CCBC as an institution. Responsibilities include teaching five courses per semester; committee work at the department, school, campus, and college level; attendance at department, school, campus, and college level meetings; college/community service; and participation in professional development activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's Degree in a related Human Services Counseling field, such as Human Services, Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or Psychology;
• current license or certification in Counseling or Social Work;
• minimum of five years clinical work experience in a human services, counseling, or social work setting;
• minimum of one year experience teaching at the post-secondary level;
• experience working with diverse student populations;
• documented work experience with one or more of the following clinical populations: at-risk youth, elderly, substance use disorders, mental health, co-occurring disorders;
• demonstrated ability and interest in teaching a variety of survey and clinical courses in the human services counseling fields;
• demonstrated ability to teach online. Preferred
• documented approval to supervise Alcohol and Drug Counselors;
• minimum of two years clinical supervisory experience;
• some community college teaching experience;
• evidence of membership in professional associations in one's field;
