The purpose of this class is to provide advanced level support service to job network individuals and students. This is a contract funded position. Position locations are on the Catonsville Campus and the Essex Campus. Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in counseling, psychology or social work with at least two years of pertinent clinical experience. Must be appropriately licensed in Maryland. Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) and Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) preferred. Knowledge and experience in psychological and developmental needs of diverse populations. Class Specific Essential Duties: Serve as primary service provider for various types of counseling services for Job Network, servicing individuals from the Department of Social Services. Identify resources and tools that can assist others with their individual needs. Conduct workshops and presentations, as required. Provide academic advisement services, as required. Serve on appropriate departmental, division and college-wide committees. Maintains department records and files, as required. Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. Position Specific Essential Duties: Provide services to students by offering short-term individual and group psychological counseling, career testing, consultation, outreach and crisis intervention. Provide intake, psycho-social assessment, and short-term counseling or psychotherapy services to a diverse population of students. Develop and implement outreach prevention programs and consults with faculty and staff regarding student concerns. Make referrals to outside agencies and clinicians when appropriate. Document all clinical contacts in accordance with professional and privacy standards. Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs.
