Job Summary In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Assistant Instructor functions within the mission and strategic plan of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. The primary function of this position is the clinical instruction of Mount Carmel College of Nursing pre-licensure students. Maintains academic records regarding the progress of students. Advises students in academic matters.
Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
Licensure / Certification: Must hold a current active unrestricted licensure as an RN in the
State of Ohio.
Experience: A minimum of two years experience in the practice of nursing.
Effective Communication Skills
Clinical expertise in area of teaching responsibility.
Active in professional and community organizations.
CPR certification with RN licensure.

Functions in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing OAC 4723-5-20 Responsibilities of
Faculty and Instructional Personnel in a Clinical Setting (February 2010).
Assumes responsibility and accountability for institutional diversity and cultural competence.
Assumes responsibility for clinical laboratory experiences and contributes to the evaluation
of students.
Maintains clinical expertise in areas of clinical supervision.
Involved in professional activities, programs and professional organizations.
Communicates with course coordinator on a regular basis to clarify course responsibilities.
Participates in Faculty Assembly on a regular basis according to full-time/part-time
employment status.
Attends required College functions.
Other Job Responsibilities
Serves on College committees as assigned.
Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and
promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.
