We are currently hiring for a Traveling LPN functioning as a Provider Support Liaison/Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist that is open & willing to working in multiple locations.

It is important that the Cosmetic LPN is cheerful, friendly, polite, tactful, and professional in appearance and manner at all times. Provide excellent patient care, surgical and cosmetic services to clients. Share product knowledge and professional advice for services and products to achieve their goals.

The Cosmetic Flex LPN reports to the Cosmetic Support Manager. The right candidate will take pride in assisting the provider in giving the utmost elevated care to Anne Arundel Dermatology’s cosmetic patients. This position is an essential part of our ever-growing Cosmetic Dermatology Practice and we are excited to expand our team!
Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position is to transition patients from the providers to the aesthetics/retail portion of the practice. The chosen candidate will work closely with Providers to understand their products and ingredients preferences in order to effectively communicate to patients the importance of topical aesthetic products to their overall skin health. Skin structure and physiology knowledge is essential to effectively explain product ingredient efficacy to patients. Continual intensive training in product lines and ingredients is vital to maintain a relevant knowledge base in the constantly changing field of aesthetics. Responsible for the the assistance/support/and occasional delivery of select elective skin care services for patients, and working under the supervision of the designated provider(s). Other responsibilities may include patient education on treatment plans and medication as outlined by the patient’s provider(s). Ensures the patient is satisfied with elective skin care services and products recommended and continues to return to receive skin care treatment. Provides chair-side provider(s) assistance as needed and at times may administer assistance and or support in delivering select treatment(s) ordered by the provider. Prepares exam rooms, escorts patients to room, and prepares them for the provider(s). Assists in patient education regarding medications and what to expect after treatment or a retail skincare purchase. Responsible for assisting the provider with: patient care including taking vital signs, obtaining history and chief complaint, taking medical histories, performing examinations, and developing a treatment plan within their scope of practice for cosmetic patients and treatment administration as directed by their supervising provider. Other responsibilities include patient education on treatment plans and medication, nursing procedures, such as suture removal, dressing changes, and providing assistance over the phone and in-office (triaging) for cosmetic complaints pertaining to elective care provided that can be reasonably handled at an office level with the utmost of customer service in mind. The Cosmetic LPN will provide direct patient care as a representative of the designated provider, treating the patient in a style and manner developed and directed by the supervising provider(s) and consistent with authorized practice as defined by state law.

As a traveling LPN, it would be expected that continuity, professionalism, and punctuality is respected and followed at all sites that the role reports into.

Primary Duties
• Support as needed in the Provider/Patient and staff education & consultation process and serve as a liaison both in person and on the phone for procedures and products.
• Perform patient service functions as necessary including problem resolution and act as a resource for internal and external patients.
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure. Assist the patient education process on skincare products and cosmetic treatments.
• Consistently and accurately, document patient information and all communications with the patient into the appropriate medical record.
• Assist in the development and training of support staff to ensure proper support for the service providers and patients.
• Assist in charting under provider direct supervision.
• Address patient concerns when needed and in a timely fashion. Follow-up on patient problems, complaints and inquiries, with research to assure satisfactory completion.
• Delivers care in accordance with mutually agreed upon guidelines that are developed by the Director of Cosmetic, the provider and LPN. and based on the provider’s delegatory style.
• Limits their involvement in the assessment and implementation of treatment to agreed upon procedures including but not limited to injection therapy, taking into consideration their training, experience, and preparation of the LPN.
• Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance. Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.
• Attend internal Open House Events & external events as needed to promote and develop the cosmetic business within the clinic
• Monitors work flow and ensures adherences to policies and procedures; recommends and/or implements changes as necessary to maintain an efficient clinic and positive work environment.
• Supports and promote a positive, fair, and open environment.
• Maintain a working knowledge of regulations, standards, policies, and practices of all aspects of your work area.
• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPPA standards and OSHA Standard Precautions.
• Keep in communication with the Cosmetic Support Manager regarding progress, issues, and/or other pertinent information pertaining to operations and smooth implementation of policies and procedures.
• Completes special projects as assigned by supervisor or the Director of Cosmetics.
• Assist as needed in facilitating product research, ordering, and inventory maintenance.
• Assist as needed in coordinating promotion and event planning.
• Assist as needed in supporting management of select social media accounts.
• Assist as needed with check in/check out procedures.
• Provide patients with instructions and educational materials that relate to their unique skin type and per the provider’s recommend adjustments to their skincare regiment as appropriate.
• Helps to support the Provider’s determination in patient skin care goals and objectives, and recommended products and services that can reasonably facilitate attainment of those goals.
• Seeks advice and supervision of provider as required on treatment protocols and notifies the provider of any patient noncompliance.
• Supports in the responsibility of the coordination of any correspondence to patients regarding their skin care treatment plan, product usage, or home care instructions.
• Supports and ensures the maintenance of patient medical records detailing all treatment procedures, elective products, medication history, and educational materials received.

Chair-Side Assistance
• Ensures proper charting; act as scribe for provider as needed.
• Sets up proper instrumentation as needed.
• Assists in cosmetic procedures as needed and in accordance to state regulations.
• Ensures proper informed consents are completed and obtained consistently.
• Escorts patients to and from the front desk before and after exam as needed.

Patient Education
• Reviews proper use of skincare products with patients.
• Answers patient questions about what they should anticipate after treatment.
• Pre-emptively guides and answers patient questions about what they should anticipate prior to and during treatment.
• Answers patient questions about what they should anticipate after treatment.

Administrative
• Cleans and restocks all treatment rooms between patients, including cleaning sinks and equipment.
• Checks that all equipment is where it belongs.
• At the end of the day, turns off power to all equipment and covers equipment as needed.

Secondary Duties
• Monitors equipment to insure proper operation and maintains said equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintains treatment rooms and work areas in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Participates and attends in-service educational programs and staff meetings.
• Supports in maintaining inventory-tracking system for retail, injectable, and professional products.
• Supports in orders and stocks inventory and supplies as needed for maintaining treatment rooms and retail areas as needed.
• Maintain a valid medical licensure in accordance with state regulations.
• Stocks all exam rooms.
• Performs all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization.
• Notifies clinical staff of supplies needed to avoid shortages.
• Performs other duties and tasks as needed.
• Confirms with patients their clear understanding that a registered nurse is treating them.
• Review with the supervising provider all delegated patient services on a regular basis, as well as mutually agreed guidelines for the practice.
• Clarifies and familiarizes all issues related to supervision methods and style of delegating patient care with the supervising provider.
• Tracks referral sources, sends thank you letters to the source, and dictates consultation letters to the patient.
• Maintains treatment rooms and work areas in compliance with

OSHA standards.
• Confirms with patients their clear understanding that a nurse practitioner is treating them.
• Review with the supervising provider all delegated patient services on a regular basis, as well as mutually agreed guidelines for the practice.
• Clarifies and familiarizes all issues related to supervision methods and style of delegating patient care with the supervising provider.

Licensure/Certifications/Education
• High school diploma; college degree (required).
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program in the Maryland.
• Valid and non-expired LPN licensure in Maryland.
• One to two years of experience in a clinical nursing environment (preferred).
• One to two years of plastic surgery/cosmetic dermatologic/aesthetics experience (required)
• One to two years experience working at a CoolSculpting facility (required).
• Experience with Cosmetic procedures and treatments.
• One to two years of sales experience (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years previously as a Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, and/or Aesthetician in a clinical environment preferred.
• Proficiently trained and skilled in EMA and NexGen. 1 year minimum required.
• Ability to travel to all offices within AAD which may require some overnight stay. Mileage and accommodations would be covered. *Reliable mode of transportation, and a valid driver’s license.
• Dermtech course is required but provided by employer
