Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Diesel Engine Mechanic within our Denver Technical Field Services department. Reporting to the Technical Field Services Client Manager the successful candidate will be accountable for servicing of standby generators including the mechanical service, planning and executing projects, providing technical expertise, mentorship and leadership to junior team members, preparation and monitoring of processes for successful execution of projects and assisting in maintaining client relationships and developing new business in Denver and the United States.

Accountabilities
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5 KW through 3200 KW
• Following proper procedures for load bank testing
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial engines
• Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
• Confidently work with various brands of test and troubleshooting equipment
• Work with project teams effectively through collaboration, support, and team focus
• Working independently with minimal daily supervision
• Ensure safe work process is executed with each job and a culture of safety is fostered
• Ensure completion of technical reports and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and completeness of work
• Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner
• Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Various other duties as required

Qualifications
• 3+ years experience as a Mechanical Technician
• 3+ years experience in the backup generator industry or a transferable industry
• Electrical /Power Systems experience an asset
• CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Detroit – MTU experience a plus
• Ability to read, write and communicate in a professional manner
• Knowledge of or ability to learn gas and diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controls
• Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
• Knowledge of industrial, utility and commercial environments
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and develop a team to achieve results
• Proven ability to proactively and effectively communicate with various cross functional stakeholders to achieve operational excellence
• Ability to multi-task, exercise good judgment and prioritize workload through outstanding organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills with an attention to detail
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences to our internal and external clients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with highly developed relationship management skills to interact with various levels within the organization
• Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Proven commitment to safety
• Must have a valid drivers’ license
• The ability to travel and work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
