Position Summary:
The Information Management Services (IMS) unit provides technology, systems and information to help fulfill the goals of CDE. IMS supports CDE and Colorado School Districts through five teams: Network/Help Desk; Applications Development; Data Services, Project Management, and Data Warehouse.

This position will be within the Network/Help Desk team.
Administer, configure, install, maintain, update, upgrade, and operate Windows infrastructure, email infrastructure, Active Directory, and other underlying systems and applications.

Duties Description:
Administration of Windows server infrastructure and related underlying systems.

Provisioning, installing and configuring Windows servers and underlying systems.
Administration, configuration, installation, maintain, update, upgrade and operate Windows infrastructure, email infrastructure, Active Directory, and other underlying systems and applications:
• Microsoft Active Directory, on premises and Azure hybrid.
• Microsoft Exchange, powershell, DHCP, and DNS
• Microsoft Sharepoint
• Microsoft Office 365
• File sharing
• Print sharing
• Third party Windows applications.
• Microsoft Internet Information Services
• Ensure data retention, availability, scalability, backup and recovery.
• Apply patches and updates to Windows servers and underlying systems.
• Providing technical support for staff and external users.
• Troubleshooting system and server errors.
• Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors, and remediating issues.
• Managing, provisioning, and configuring user access, group policy, and security settings.
• Monitoring system performance and remediating issues.
• Maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups.
• Briefing management and stakeholders on Windows servers and underlying systems.

Skills and Competencies:
• Windows server 2012 – 2019, including Active Directory, powershell, IIS, DHCP, file sharing, group policy, security groups, print sharing, and DNS
• Microsoft Exchange Server, on premises and cloud
• VMWare based virtual machines
• Microsoft Office 365, including configuration, conditional access security, and license provisioning
• Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Networking and datacenter concepts and troubleshooting
• Storage area network attached servers
• Server and data backup systems
• Server performance monitoring and tuning
• Endpoint, antivirus, and antimalware systems
• Firewall concepts and providing firewall requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.
One year of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

Comparative Analysis:
Colorado Revised Statutes require that state employees hired and promoted through a comparative analysis. The comparative analysis for this position will include a structured review of your application materials and responses to any supplemental questions. The comparative analysis process may also consist of Telephone Screening, Oral Assessment, Written Assessment, Online Assessment, etc. Candidates who most closely meet the job requirements will move through successive stages of the process.
