Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, is looking for an experienced Payroll/HR professional to join the Human Resources Department at the Detroit Renaissance Center location. Responsibilities include assisting with all phases of multi-state payroll and report processing. Verifies and processes time entry utilizing an electronic timecard system. Prepares all payroll registers, journal entries and other required payroll reports. Reconciles payroll accounts to the general ledger. Prepares all withholding submissions including federal, local and state taxes as well as other required reports and/or payments such as garnishments, etc. Prepares and submits quarterly payroll tax returns, annual reports and W2’s. Prepares various reports utilizing Cognos report-writing software. Assists with pension and retirement programs administration, staff compensation analysis, HR survey preparation and other HR support duties as assigned.
Qualifications include minimum 5 years automated payroll processing experience required, preferably within a corporate environment. UltiPro or similar payroll software experience required. CPP Certification preferred. Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication (written and verbal) skills required. Must be detail oriented. Advanced skills in Excel preferred. Knowledge of multi-state payroll and reporting requirements preferred.
