This position has a flexible open location, we are seeking engineering professional that can sit in one of the following Berry locations:
• Mountaintop, PA
• Matthew, NC
• Chino, CA

The Engineered Materials Division has an immediate need for a Development Engineer to support our Performance Materials Films businesses. The challenge for our product development team is to develop and manage new film formulations and products, test those products for suitability in specific applications, proactively work with customers, provide assistance to our commercial teams regarding new product launches and assist our facilities in designing, testing and monitoring of current and new products. The primary focus area for this position will be custom film applications.
• Work closely with product management, commercial team and customers to identify new product opportunities, capture Critical to Quality (CTQ) attributes and translate such to launch development programs.
• Develop various film families including custom film, stretch films, shrink film, bags and agricultural films. Primary focus will be custom film product development.
• Initiate development programs and demonstrate feasibility by generating samples and data.
• Generate innovative ideas/concepts that could lead to active development programs; with ultimate goal of commercialization.
• Work closely with manufacturing and commercial teams to ensure successful transition of programs/products to commercialization.
• Provide manufacturing facilities support in the identification and qualification of alternate resins and improved production efficiencies.
• Assist customers with their needs to evaluate, approve and implement new product launches.

• Excellent analytical capabilities.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong planning/organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting.
• Ability to effectively communicate/present findings to a wide number of audiences.
• BS Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Polymers focus preferred.
• 1-5 years in product development field. Polyethylene film experience preferred.
