Agile Team Scrum MasterJob Description
Intel's Enterprise Application Delivery (EAD) division is looking for talented and capable scrum masters to coach our 200+ scrum and kanban teams.

We are an organization on an agile transformation journey looking to improve our ability to make and meet commitments and grow the continuous improvement muscles of our teams. EAD creates and supports the applications that automate and control all aspects of Intel's business using a variety of modern technologies. We see the scrum master as a key leadership role within our teams who uses agile to create an environment where teams are delivering incremental value while questioning assumptions, running experiments, and improving their work on a short cadence.

The Scrum Master is responsible for making sure a agile team lives by the values and practices of Scrum. They coach the Delivery Team and do anything possible to help the team perform at their highest level. This involves removing any impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and doing things like working with the Product Owner to make sure the product backlog is in good shape and ready for the next sprint. They are responsible for ensuring agile theory and practices are understood and enacted (even helping those outside the Delivery Team understand so value can be maximized). They facilitate Scrum ceremonies, enforce time boxes, and role model agile principles. Scrum masters teach, mentor, guide and coach the Delivery Team (and the organization) on Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Lean principles and practices.

Also, the Scrum Master coaches the Delivery Team into a self-organizing and cross-functional state. They drive continuous improvement in team processes and product delivery while embracing servant leadership. They create a safe environment where problems can be raised, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and problem solving. They facilitate getting the work done without assigning or dictating the work. The Scrum Master facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. They assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating (making visible) information. They work with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of agile in the organization. They support and educate the Product Owner and Delivery Team, especially with respect to refining (grooming) and managing the backlog.


The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
• Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills and experience using these interpersonal skills to motivate, engage, and mobilize team members.
• History of role modeling and promoting agile values and principles.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership roles within agile software development team and contributing to a team-oriented environment.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree, with a desire to work in an information-systems environment.
• 3+ years experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach with Agile teaming methodologies such as XP, Scrum and Kanban.
• Demonstrated track record of using standard lean/agile techniques like Pairing, CI, DevOps, VSM, A3, TDD, and BDD to improve software development processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
• CSM preferred.
