Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining an innovative Child Care facility to meet specific needs of children from substance abuse environments
if applicable, provide rehabilitation services to all children;
Acts as advocate between children, parents, and community services;
Assist in maintaining files/records of each child as outlined by ODMHSAS Standards and Criteria;
Maintain strict confidentiality concerning all participants and records protected under Federal Regulation;
Responsible for written observations; lesson planning, completing children's assessments, and portfolio collection. These duties require reading, writing, assessment, and observation skills and the ability write and communicate effectively with parents, other staff and contracting agencies;
Knowledge of policies and procedures as well as general child care facility requirements;
Knowledge of educational methods and developmentally appropriate practices necessary to enhance the emotional, social and intellectual growth of children;
Knowledge of infant care, child psychology and/or early childhood behavior, growth and development
Ability to use conflict resolution techniques with a variety of circumstances and individuals as able to use effective communication skills;
Responsible for keeping child care facility neat, clean, orderly, and calm;
Develop and implement daily themes and activities for children (including but not limited to crafts, story time, songs, centers, dramatic play, fitness, shapes, colors, proper health, snacks and social interactions);
Ability to lead and participate in active games with young children; monitoring behavior; and participating in curriculum activities and housekeeping responsibilities. Also may include physical capability to bend, stoop, climb, and move/lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Maintains core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment.
Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn Agency policy, rules, regulations, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned and is available to assist other programs as required.


High Diploma or equivalent required.
Valid OK Driver License, Auto Insurance and clean Motor Vehicle Record required
Experience in child care or babysitting.
Experience with trauma effect children and families preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible and demonstrated patience and sensitivity to participant needs.
Must complete all in-service training requirements including CPI, Communicable Diseases, CPR/First
Aid and other trainings as assigned.
