DescriptionThe Certified Personal Trainer must have a sincere commitment to provide the highest quality of training to those who seek professional service. It is the responsibility of the Certified Personal Trainer to provide safe, effective, and efficient guidance in assisting all clients to achieve his or her goals. This person represents his or her qualifications honestly, and provides only those services for which he or she is qualified to perform. It is the duty of the Certified Personal Trainer to uphold and enhance public appreciation and trust for the Health and Fitness industry by helping to eliminate the spread of misinformation regarding health and exercise. Job Responsibilities: Certified Personal Trainer • Provide one-on-one instruction for fee-for-service clients • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with the HNH Fitness client, and service the client with a high level of integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior • Responsible for ensuring completion of all screening parameters before participation including a Health History Questionnaire, Par-Q, and fitness assessments • Perform initial assessments and reassessments for clients when appropriate • Recruit, contact, and schedule appointments with clients • Review appropriate paperwork such as cancellation policy, etc., with client prior to first training session • Discuss specific and measurable goals with clients and set both short-term and long-term goals that are realistic and achievable • Develop a safe and progressive exercise program based on pre-set goals and re-evaluate as necessary • Teach correct technique and use proper spotting techniques • Provide continued feedback and positive encouragement throughout the training session, keeping focus on the client(s) • Track client’s progress with a detailed record of sessions conducted • Maintain list of expiration dates of packages purchased and ensure charges for personal training services are accurate • Ensure the highest quality service to HNH Fitness members and guests in a friendly and professional manner Job Requirements: High School Graduate required or equivalent experience, College preferred Undergraduate Degree in Exercise Sciences (Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, etc.) (preferred) Graduate Degree in health related field (preferred) Certifications o CPR / AED (required; must maintain current; ARC or AHA) o NCCA Accredited Organization (required) • Experience, Knowledge, Skills o Possess a passion for fitness and wellness, and an unwavering desire to help others achieve their individual goals o Comprehensive understanding of current health and fitness standards and principles o Comprehensive knowledge of health and fitness equipment o Exceptional customer service and communication skills o Ability to work during club peak hours which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends o Willingness and commitment to continued professional development o Willingness and commitment to work with a diverse client base o 3-5 years experience in training / exercise instruction (preferred) o Experience in medically oriented fitness setting (preferred)Apply Online
