We are seeking highly motivated and skilled students for the Student Software QA position within the University Faculty Information and Support team. This critical role will focus on quality assurance testing, script writing and test automation programming as a member of a SCRUM team. This individual works under the direction of the Sr. Software QA Analyst focusing on custom software utilized by faculty and staff across the university.
The incumbent will work to help implement software test automation techniques using Selenium ( IDE , Webdriver) and Java. As part of the SCRUM team, executes different testing approaches to test software during the team’s biweekly sprints. Works on various technical activities such as writing test plans and developing test scripts, programming, maintaining and running automated tests to build a library of reusable tests, developing and maintaining documentation for departmental quality assurance standard practices.
Applicants must have the following skills or knowledge:
• Ability to work in a team environment, learns new concepts quickly, and takes initiative to solve problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Course work or program of study in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related area.
• Associate’s degree in a computer-related field and two years of experience or equivalency preferred.
• A fundamental understanding of Object Oriented design and the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with source control systems like SVN or CVS or Git.
• A fundamental understanding of relational databases and SQL .
