CPS Energy is seeking a motivated Mail Services Assistant to handle the distribution and deliver of all mail for the organization.

Position Summary
Mail Services Assistant ensures all mail is distributed to Main Office and Navarro Buildings. Learn the basics of mail processing as well as the laws that are applicable to us. Learn how to use the permit numbers as well how to fill out the required 3602’s for mailings. Learn the basics of digital printing, focused on the Xerox Nuvera 144 ES as well as the Xerox IGEN 4.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensure delivery of all mail from the downtown Post Office for disbursement to all respective mail drops.
Rough sort and fine sort of all mail, working knowledge of mail drop system and their meaning.
Accept any and all FedEx, UPS, and Lone Star Overnight, Certified or any other courier service as needed, record and have signatures for each.
Operate Neotrack device and software to track and pull respective reports.
Log any and or all certified of above mentioned and secure signature daily from the USPS.
Review any mail with no direct destination and give to immediate supervisor.
Assess any package that could be detrimental to the safety of the company and act accordingly. Emergency trained response.
Address any issues from incoming calls regarding concerns or special needs.
Monitor supplies needed for metering ink, strips.
Place Service calls as needed for the meter machines, inerter, folder and tracking devices.
Able to process all mail using digital metering system, effectively ascertain the proper way to gain maximum discounts for all mail.
Working knowledge of different substrates to run effectively on equipment.
Check fund availability from the USPS.
Request funds as needed and the process of doing so.
Work with any internal customer for any planned and unplanned mailings give quotes to respective parties for postage needed and the best process in handling the mailings. Some would include Peaksaver, Weatherization, Open Enrollment, Safety Meetings.
Engage with any project at any given time.
Create check request for monies on meter machines as needed.
Ensure Presort Services are picked up daily and report completed.
Make any necessary changes to mail drops if customer is moving
Ensure Over 195 mail destinations throughout all locations are delivered twice daily.
Privacy, Installation, Installments, Final Notices all letters that are done daily to disperse to outside customers.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling
Ability to read, write and comprehend information.
Possess a valid driver’s license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations
Ability to understand the mail process.

Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Ability to travel between business related events. Work hours may be extended.
Physical Demands
