Our Family Resource Center is seeking a Family Educator to join the team.
The Benevilla Family Resource Center (BFRC) offers free, bilingual services and programs to families with young children throughout the NW Maricopa region at convenient community sites.
Resource Specialists link parents to community services, answer questions, and help complete applications for AHCCCS and DES.
Family Educators present workshops that inform and support parents with proven strategies and techniques focusing on child development and family issues.
Other parent-child interactive classes and events help raise parent awareness of the importance of early childhood experiences to healthy development through play, songs and movement.
BFRC’s Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program offers support and education to this special group of second-time parents.
The hourly, non-exempt opportunity requires availability 40 hours per week (including days, some evenings, some Saturdays), $14.67 hourly rate of pay, Benefits eligible, 403b Retirement Plan with Employer Match and a generous Paid Time Off and Sick Leave Accrual package.

Qualifications/Requirements: *Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field preferred, AA Degree minimum accepted.
• 3 or more years teaching experience working with young children and adults.
• Experience leading exercise classes helpful.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English and Spanish.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule: days, some evenings and some Saturdays.
• Must possess the ability to travel independently in the northwest valley, including Surprise, El Mirage, Peoria, Youngtown, Glendale, Sun City, and Sun City West.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License/ vehicle insurance required.
Position Summary: The Family Educator works with those raising children 0 -5 years old.
Develops lesson plans and leads adult – child interactive classes and workshops throughout NW Maricopa County under the auspices of the Family Resource Center.
This position is funded through a grant from First Things First.
