Who You Are A complex role that blends a strong background in marketing with the technical know-how of managing an over 800-page website and over 970-page blog. Strategic thinker with great attention to detail who builds digital content and ensures the content is up-to-date while maintaining FRCC’s brand consistency. Works with individuals collaboratively throughout the college who represent different departments/disciplines and manages and executes the content for program and other web pages as well as a powerful blog (which brings most of our new visitors to the website). Must understand SEO writing best practices and have strong organizational and project management skills. There is a significant amount of planning required to develop and execute a digital content strategy for the web. In addition, consultative skills are needed to provide input for the content of the FRCC intranet, “Inside FRCC.” Strong analytic abilities are needed to measure and interpret performance data and an understanding of how to use that data when reworking/redesigning specific web pages to increase traffic. Experience with information architecture, navigation, responsive design and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is needed to manage compliance. Competency with CMS platforms, web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Siteimprove as well as experience in managing digital advertising, email campaigns, and some social media channels are needed. Understanding of Web-based markup/programming languages (HTML, XML, CSS) with experience related to troubleshooting and quality is needed. Other skill sets include the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Must be skilled at managing outside vendors such as writers for the blog, agencies that manage SEO, WCAG, and redesign projects. SALARY: Low to mid $60s annually PRIMARY DUTIES: • Oversee the content and design of the FRCC website and FRCC Blog as well as serving as consultant and providing, on occasion, content to the FRCC intranet. • Work closely with deans, senior leadership and other college departments and personnel to ensure that web content is accurate and engaging. • Coordinate the college web contributors, including content writers/editors, graphic designers, developers, outside vendors and consultants. • In consultation with the director of marketing, manage the messaging on the web page to reflect the college’s overall advertising and communication strategy. • Ensure optimum web performance management through search engine optimization (SEO) and performance testing and management. • Work closely with the marketing director to establish a vision for the web design. Assist with website vendor selection processes and definition of requirements. • In conjunction with the director of public relations, recruit writers for the FRCC Blog. Ensure that the blog is operating smoothly and that content matches with the FRCC strategic plan and coordinates with current marketing focus. • Serve as a consultant on the FRCC Intranet and on social media, ensuring that we have a consistent digital media strategy. • Stay abreast of digital marketing industry news, trends and best practices. • Be a digital marketing resource to other college departments. Understanding SEO writing best practices. • Analytic abilities: Ability to measure and interpret performance data and understand how to use that data when reworking/redesigning specific web pages to increase traffic. • Industry expertise and digital acumen: Keeping up-to-date with digital industry trends and being able to communicate with developers and designers. Have a strong understanding of Web-based markup/programming languages (HTML, XML,CSS). • Project management and attention to detail: Ability to juggle many projects at a time and know how to establish priorities. Required Experience REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. • Three to five years of experience directing and implementing digital marketing activities and managing web properties. • Experience with managing SEO, blog, and website content. • Knowledgeable in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and experienced in managing compliance. • Solid competency with CMS platforms and web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Siteimprove, and Crazy Egg). • Solid competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
